Meadows Update 25/06/09‏

Hi all,

Simplicity: Pulled up fine. Will trial again next week. Details will be provided as they come to hand.

Bertonic:

Look well placed - Can't complain about a $21,000 race with only 9 runners and nothing too special.

In a small field, barrier 7 is not too bad (better than Br 1 on that track/distance).

A quick look at the form and my thoughts are:
1. In form but giving us 1KG. Hopefully we're a class above. Who is Shirley Hunter ?? I like our chances.
2. Fandandle has form first up and is not this race. Seems to be out of form at present.
4.Is a danger but is also nominated July 2nd at Sale. Also settled back last start so not sure what he'll do from br 1?
5. In good form but he's stepping up in class and again hopefully we're a class above.
6. Shocking name ('poo and pee') and from the outside will need improve. Only therabouts of late - 3rd up will be fit, is a chance - but has not won in this class.
7. Last start winner but only a weak corrowa maiden - not too worried.
8. Mick Price, probably the one to beat (Bel Shoes won this week so thats good form) - but on a slow track that may be her undoing as her last start on a heavy track was terrible. May also run her best races fresh. Am hoping Linda Meech goes for a run inside Bert and we put em into the fence :) mwwahaaaahaaaahaa (evil laugh)
9. A danger but no superstar (wins at YV and Echa).... second up (also ran a shocker 1st up on the Heavy, this class) will be fitter.

Bert's 0-82 run is a higher class race that any of these have contested... just hope he gets into a nice position and the 1115m is not too short on the tight track.

I'm tipping 3-8-4-6. (ok, I'm hoping!)
